Helverson Brothers Firewood and Mulch

Great, quick communication and delivery of our mulch. Great quality. Used them in the past for mulch and always had a good expierence, will continue using them every year for mulch.

Their website advertised the highest quality, clean, 16-inch stove wood. I ordered 1 cord. Half the wood is undercut and too big to fit into my large fireplace let alone a wood stove. Wood is fairly dirty too.

Don't waste your time as they are only servicing present customers, which I thought I was. You fill out the form on their website and wait for an email to say that they are too busy to serve you. Just say so on your website and save people the time to fill out the form.

Green wood and 1/2 of the delivery needed to be further split - huge 20lb, half-trunk splits. Been ordering for years and have received some green in the past but this is unusable this season. Tried a few of the 'dryer' pieces this weekend and wouldn't burn. Will store for next year and find another supplier moving forward.

I ordered a cord of wood from the Helverson brothers. In my initial inquiry to them I specified my need to burn this would immediately, expressing that I have several cords of wood on my property that are split and not yet fully seasoned. I was assured that their wood would be ready to burn. They were excellent in communication, and delivery was prompt as promised. When I received the wood it had a little bit of snow on it. Looking concerned, I was instructed to stack it in my garage with a box fan for a couple of days. The wood looks beautiful mostly all Oak, and cut to consistent usable sizes. After 2 weeks of running a fan on this wood it still felt heavy, so I bought a propane heater and ran that for a couple of days. Now im wasting money to heat my garage and running a fan(the wood was now reading about 14% moisture on outside but still wet feeling by weight). The wood was still too wet after 3 weeks, and with dropping Temps headed our way I decided to split it down even smaller to dry it faster. I was very dissatisfied to find the wood is not even close to being seasoned. Using my moisture meter to read inside (split wood now) at over 40% moisture. Unfortunately I was assured I was getting usable wood and I received garbage that I cannot use until next year. I'm very disappointed that I've been lied to and my money has been taken from me. I would have been better off spending the money towards filling my oil tank. If you're looking to get usable seasoned wood for your fireplace this is unfortunately not the company. Spend your money somewhere else. I was lied to and lost my money on this one.
