Boulder Canyon Trailhead in Apache Junction is a captivating hiking area renowned for its breathtaking 360-degree views and well-maintained trails. Adventurers appreciate the scenic drive to the marina where ten free parking spots are reserved, with additional parking available along nearby sideroads. The trail offers a moderate challenge with gradual elevation changes and a mix of loose rocks, ideal for those seeking an invigorating yet manageable outdoor experience.
Hikers often recommend stopping at the overlook halfway through the 5-mile out-and-back hike to soak in the spectacular desert landscape. The path is sun-exposed with no shaded areas, so bringing plenty of water and proper hiking boots is essential, especially on warmer days. Whether you’re a seasoned trekker or a group of seniors, Boulder Canyon Trailhead rewards visitors with stunning scenery that photos rarely capture fully.

3 months agoNice hike up the ridge overlooking part of the lake. Good views of the lake along the way. The parking can be confusing. There are signs that say parking only for the marina, but there are 10 spots for trail parking. Drive in, go right, and drive all the way to the south end of the parking lot. See the pictures.
