Called 2/26/26 @ 6:18pm to place a pick up order. I wanted the fried lobster tail and asked if it was 2 pieces for $35 because on the menu it says 2 pieces for $35. When I asked the girl on the phone about it being on the menu, I thought she would've said that's a happy hour item or that's only for Sundays or just say it's a typo and they'll fix it soon. Instead the girl says "I wouldn't even buy a lobster tail if it was less than $35" ok, can do without the wallet shaming. I said "I actually would buy a $17 lobster tail, with tax it's basically $20. In Maine, you can get a $10 lobster because of the abundance up there, but anyways can I call back? I'll have to revise my order." The girl said yes. I call back 7mins later. It's ringing out. I call back again, it rings out. Rings out to voice-mail. Then after a 4th time calling, it's saying the number is unavailable. Then 5th, 6th, 7th, time it'll ring once and hang up. Meaning, the girl is looking at me calling and just deciding to not answer and sending me straight to voice-mail. I walk over to La Donna (16min walk) and call while outside. Now, I'm watching the girl not pick up the phone. A lady just walked out with her food, leaving a guy and 2 kids in the restaurant. I call again and once again, she won't answer. Of course she's working and helping prepare the orders for whomever is waiting but answering the phone to take orders is also apart of your job. Especially if the phone rings 14 times. I walk inside right after a different guy walks in. The girl asks if I need help, I said "Yes, I've been calling 12,000 times and you-" interrupts me "I'm busy, I can't stop what I'm doing to answer the phone." I said "The people waiting for their food wouldn't mind, they still have to wait." I also knew that she practiced that excuse from 6:18 to 6:45, you don't answer the phone? Then when I call when it's 1 guy and 2 kids in the lobby, you're still "busy" She also had the excuse of the phone "not being near her" What if I placed my order online and I just want to confirm? She's too busy to work? 🤔 Anyways, she's asked what I wanted I said "lobster tail with collard greens and baked mac n cheese. Can i pay now please?" She said they were out of mac n cheese (@6:45pm even tho they close at 9pm) and she stated what they have left (which also didn't include collard greens ) I'm like, all of this could've been said on the phone. When the guy who walked in before me heard all of the missing items, he walked out. As I was walking out I sarcastically said "thanks for not answering the phone." The girl responded sarcastically saying "you're welcome, have a good day" I said "I can't, I'm hungry." We're in 2026, black owned restaurants aren't like this anymore. Why is La Donna Re's still holding up the stereotype of 'black restaurants have terrible costumer service ESPECIALLY towards black costumers'? Maybe I caught the girl on a bad day but my hungry ass didn't need the wallet shaming, didn't need the ghost calls, didn't need the excuses/lies (because I was calling while looking thru the window), didn't need to walk over there for nothing and didn't need to make this 1 star review. Yet, here we are because of the crappy customer service. I was whole heartily ready to pay $50 for my meal, because I want good food and I want to support black owned. SMH

The cabbage was too watery, and the mac and cheese too salty. For $22.50 you should definitely get at least 10 wings, and at least 3 napkins. They gave me one napkin.
