Morse Coffee Company

I spent most of the day here yesterday working. I bought a large hazelnut, caramel latte when I first arrived and a few hours later bought a large dirty chai. All day there were plenty of tables available. So, yes, I parked it and stayed to work. I’m traveling from out of state working remotely, here spending time and money in this town. Supporting their economy. I got a haircut at Old growth barber (highly recommend Jeramie Lund), stopped into the sewing shop Nextdoor and then came back today to sit and write cards to family and friends. I got a large americano and a maple scone. The drinks were delicious. Unfortunately, today, I was startled out of my trance with my headphones on while writing a post card to a loved one and was told “ I’m going to ask you to wrap it up. We try to keep to a one hour limit to keep the tables turning”. There were still a few tables open. Granted, I had spread out at a larger table for four with all of my cards but there were tables available and ample seating in the back area also. She could’ve asked me to move to the back seated bar area, or to a smaller table, instead I was asked to leave. I’ve NEVER had this experience before. I’m courteous. I don’t leave a mess, I’m a paying customer who came back two days in a row, and yesterday purchased multiple items, as well as today. Maybe this is normal here but I was not impressed with the customer service experience being friendly and accommodating up front but then being told I basically overstayed my welcome as if I was preventing them from getting further business by existing. I won’t be returning to support this establishment, which is a bummer because it’s a nice atmosphere, with excellent coffee. If you’re a digital nomad who actually wants to stay a while, go somewhere less pretentious that’s not worried about turning tables and actually wants repeat happy customers.

Best coffee and great, friendly service. Love this place!

I love getting coffee here — it always smells amazing, the atmosphere is really cozy, and it’s a great place to sit and get some work done on my laptop.
