Excellent hike, very well marked, with limited but sufficient parking spots, bear-proof trash cans and a nice creek on the other side of the road. The hike is mild, not difficult at all, and the views… breathtaking. A gem just minutes away from downtown Colorado Springs. Best part, it is dog friendly and with a nice bench at the top of Mt. As others have mentioned only the first .25 mile is a little slippery but you do NOT need micro spikes. Once pay that it's smooth sailing. Dry, and well traveled. It's a consistent elevation grade to the top with only one or two areas where you have to do some simple scrambling. I would recommend downloading the map offline as service in the start is non existent! Also the trail can get a little confusing so you should check your map often. Parking is limited and if the first area is full, you will have to add a mile or two walk to the next closest parking area. Some of the trail is exposed so be sure to wear sun protection!

Icey almost the whole way up this time of year in late January. Unfortunately there is alot of dog poop on the trail.. someones car was broken into when we returned to the parking area so don't leave anything that looks valuable in your car.
