I understand the hesitation that comes with booking a singing teacher. “Will it be worth the money?”, “How do I know a good teacher from a bad one?”, “Will I feel embarrassed?” I don’t usually write reviews but I had to write this one so you know that Singing Lessons NYC is worth every penny and on top of that, it’s the most affordable high quality 10/10 service I have come across. I have had 3 life changing classes with Jae. This has been my experience so far. When it came to booking a session, the Singing Lessons NYC team responded very quickly and they have an amazing personality. You can tell they are passionate about what they do. They are flexible and communicate exceptionally well. They are always available for questions. This is the kind of treatment you always expect but don’t always receive from other people. They actually go beyond my expectations because they are so consistent in supporting me and having a positive attitude. When I arrive to all my sessions, Jae is never late and they always ask me how I’m doing. We do a warm up exercise, then we do exercises that help shape the sound I want, and we end our session with a song I’m working on. What makes Jae an amazing teacher is that you can clearly tell they are an expert on their craft. I can throw the most vague question at them and not only do they answer it, but they explain it in a way that is very easy to understand. In my first session they took the time to explain breathing to me in detail, how the muscles work when we sing, and how we use vowels. I learn something new every session with Jae and I apply it to my singing during solo practice which has improved my voice dramatically and turned me into a more confident singer. Jae is living proof as to why it’s better to have a teacher than to find stuff online. Sure you can look things up but you won’t have it explained to you in a way that is of any benefit to you. This review is super long because I have been loving my whole experience and I encourage anyone interested to apply because you won’t regret it. I’ve had singing teachers in the past and I regret Singing Lessons NYC not being my first choice. I don’t want others making the same mistake. You should DEFINITELY book any of their teachers, but especially Jae. Run don’t walk!

I've been working with Josaphat for a while now and have to say he's incredible. I started with no singing experience and sounded awful, but now I think I can hold my own. Improvement was quick and noticeable, and I feel like I get better with every lesson. I can tell that Josaphat tailors his approach to each student, is incredibly knowledgeable, and always has a reason for asking you to do something, even if you don't know what it is. He worked hard to create an environment of mutual respect, which allows him to deliver feedback in a really effective way and accelerate the learning process. Could not recommend working with Josaphat enough!

I had the pleasure of working with Josaphat! Josaphat is a really great teacher - he’s very good at understanding what your voice is doing, and providing feedback to help you improve in challenging areas. Josaphat also does a great job of giving you a few different options for how to approach a song, and works to keep your unique style present as you experiment. Josaphat is also an incredibly warm-hearted person, incredibly friendly, and very easy to talk to. Lessons with him are comfortable and fun! He’s also an amazing singer, as you’d expect. Additionally, the staff are very responsive to texts, and were extremely pleasant to work with. The entire experience was smooth, and enjoyable.

Dr. Felix is really helpful in making you rethink your attitude towards your voice. His teaching style is fun and relaxed but you can tell that there is a lot of knowledge about both the physical and psychological aspects of singing behind it.

Dr. Felix is AMAZING! So smart, so wise..his style of teaching is exactly what I needed in my life right now. I’m so grateful... I HIGHLY recommend!
