in the last weekSo beautiful!!! Moderate hike with some inclines, gorgeous falls and I'm sure it's even nicer in the summertime. Highly recommend & enjoyable to go solo, with a couple friends or with a group.

6 months agoA must do hike along Alaska’s first road!! The trail is generally at a pretty good grade, but is nice and wide and well maintained. So even though it can be steep, it’s fairly easy walking. Waterfalls are scattered all across all the ridges you can see from the hiking trail and mature sitka spruce dot the drainage on the walk up. Would definitely recommend this hike for anyone visiting Juneau

7 months agoAmazing trail. A very long trail. You have to be careful for falling rocks and land slides though.

7 months agoWell kept trail, wide in most parts, beautiful changing views and waterfalls, follows Gold Creek. Bridges were in great shape with one under repair but still sturdy and crossable. Steady incline for first mile+ or so. Saw lots of dogs and trail runners. Gorgeous even on a rainy day. Don't miss the short, flat Flume Trail nearby, going out or in...

7 months agoDo not go to the 'Mine Camp Ruins!' The hike was spectacular until we took the Ruins branch. It felt like we were bushwhacking our way through the forest. A piece of rusted sheet metal here, an old wall there, some old retaining cables over there. 15min later you arrive at an old mine/cave entrance that just has some old pipes near it and it's full of water so you can't get in unless you have an inflatable boat. Evidence of people going in with an inflatable kayak are there now. We loved the hike until we took the Mine Ruin Branch. Again, don't do the last right Branch. It's respectfully steep for a while and then you bushwhack it for nothing.
