2 months agoSome decent trails but they need way better marking. We had a map and could hardly read the thing because the trails are so far off of the map that we had. They just have arrows that say go here, go there, and then boom, you're at a campsite. Would be helpful to have arrows pointing to which campsites are where. You can pay cash at the parking area for a campsite or they have a link where you can pay online if you can get cell phone service. The only service I could get was at the top of the tallest hill. Will definitely have to go back as I know there are way more trails to hike. It was rainy the whole time we were there and some of the trails were kind of slippery especially on the really steep descent. What can you say though? This is Iowa.
