Very Good food but not great. Chicken and Waffles $28 plus $1.50 for gravy was good, boneless breasts had a thin crispy crust but the white meat chicken was bit dry and mealy, the waffle had a fall-vibe spice and was nice tasting with the sweet potato mix but not stellar and honestly the 8" waffle was too small for the price. Recommended as their signature dish. Memphis-Style ribs were true to form ... dry rub and slow smoked .. of the full rack, half was mahogany colored and fell from the bone, the other half was rubbery. They rub was not overly salty but a bit too much intenity eithout much flavor complexity .. there was no infusion of vinegar or sweetness resulting in a flat flavor profile. For a full rack .. was not a lot of meat on them. A tiny side of an unpleasant tasting BBQ sauce was provided. Beans were smoky and well easoned ... more Louisiana style than Memphis, dry crumbly style corn bread with jalapeño butter and unmemorable slaw rounded out the $42 tray of food. Okay but not mouthwatering. Crawfish Etouffee tasted authentic Louisiana style but portion was small and the quantity of crayfish was sparse. Very overpriced at $29. Recommended if you want a good dish but have a small appetite Creole Seafood Gumbo was delicious and well spiced with a nice variety of seafood but again a very small portion. For $26 if needed to be twice the portion. Recommended if you want a great dish but have a small appetite Non-alcoholic drinks were expensive and offered no refill. Mango lemonade was very good but $6 a glass and it was maybe 4 oz in a pint glass of ice. Same for berry cream soda, except it wasn't good... it tasted like cream soda but the berry flavor was non existent, so not very good and overpriced at $6 a glass, where again it was maybe 4 oz in a pint glass of ice. Provided server a 20% tip. Dinner was nice but not stellar and frankly seriously overpriced at $140 ($170 with tip) for 4 plates. Although we've eaten here twice and the other location twice, we are confident this will not be a repeater. Loosely Recommended

I take every opportunity I get to order crawfish etouffee and this place did it well! The only thing I'm surprised about was the rice. Some pieces weren't cooked and it reminded me of the quick cooking white rice I give my dog or cook in the microwave if I mess up a meal! Thank you for having this on the menu!!

A must when in Portland. We came all the way from Texas to eat great southern inspired food. And now have a go to every time we come back to the PDX.
