a week agoThe Stables is one of Missoula's premiere restaurants; featuring unique flavors in a humble atmosphere at the edge of downtown. This is a restaurant that's not afraid to make eye contact. "Hello. How are *you*? We are glad you are here." They're proud of their spot and their menu in a non-bragadocious way. The meal pacing by our server Alex was confident and responsive; it was like a dance where we led the evening and he followed with subtlety and ease. Two hours flew by without me noticing. People in Missoula are so friendly it was a delight to talk and to listen to our neighboring tables throughout the evening. We are a small town in Montana after all. Excellence is appreciated and you could tell the whole room felt very well taken care of. Around 7:45 the music picked up the tempo and deepened the rhythm; coincidentally the drinks seemed to get stronger and the laughter in the room got just a little larger. The food was great. Especially the steelhead ceviche. We will be back. No need for a special occasion to go, it always feels special at The Stables.

a month agoBeautiful birthday dinner. The food was delicious, wonder service, and our meal felt leisurely, not pressured or rushed. My husband made a reservation for my birthday and the staff went above and beyond to give me a card and finish our meal with a dessert. Absolutely wonderful experience and truly felt like a treat. If you’re looking for a delicious dinning experience and a special space to celebrate The Stable is first choice in Missoula.
