I had such a great experience with Brandi at Yahi’s Dominican Salon in Bed-Stuy (Ralph Ave location). This was my first time coming to the salon, and I will definitely be returning — no complaints at all. I came in needing color correction, and I have very thick, medium-length, super curly hair (I fluctuate between 3B and 3C textures, and I’m mixed), so I knew it wouldn’t be a quick process. I also don’t typically color my hair or use chemicals — I keep it pretty natural — but I had old black dye from about two years ago that needed to be lifted since I was going much lighter to a ginger red. Brandi took her time to do it right. It ended up being about five hours with two rounds of processing, but I never felt rushed or overlooked. She was very attentive throughout and made sure my hair stayed healthy, using a lot of conditioner and including a protein treatment, which I really appreciated. Brandi also has a lot of personality — she’s fun, welcoming, and keeps the energy up, but at the same time she’s very efficient and quick with her work. You can tell she really knows what she’s doing. Instead of going straight in with heat, she set my hair on rollers and had me sit under the dryer, which gave me a smooth, beautiful finish without unnecessary damage- no flat iron and minimal blow drying . My hair came out looking amazing — the color is exactly what I wanted, and it feels just as good as it looks. The salon itself was comfortable and well run. They have a sign-in system so you can walk in without an appointment, and they move quickly. I watched multiple people come in for a wash, set, and blow and be in and out in about an hour. It never felt overcrowded, and the staff kept checking in to offer water or snacks, which was a nice touch. The total came out to around $200, which felt fair and to be expected given the time, care, and multiple processes involved. I couldn’t be more pleased with the results and highly recommend Brandi to anyone looking for great color and care.

Brandi is the absolute best. I’ve have been going to her for years and I always leave happy. I recommend you pop in and see her. ***the wash and scalp massage top tier!!!!
