Rented a cabin for a few days and enjoyed our time there. Didn't know we needed to buy a day pass since we rented a cabin. Passes are an additional $7 per day, per person. The cabin had electricity, AC and water outside a few feet away. It's enclosed and had curtained windows. There are screened in shelters with electricity, no AC, and water hook up. We opted for AC. Otherwise bare bones cabin. Picnic table and a grill outside. Burn ban prevented grilling unless you had propane. The trails are managed but some have trip hazards from the overgrown tree roots. There was some fishing (not much catching), boaters and canoers out there. The public restrooms & showers were okay not the best , but not the worst. They definitely need some reflective tape/paint on signs and parking blocks. It is extremely dark at night and driving around is dangerous. There are park hosts in each of the areas in case you need help or have questions. We will definitely go again and our experience this trip will help us be better prepared for the next one.

Amazing state park! The pine trees are a lovely change from cedars and junipers and the lake is perfect for everything from kayaking to swimming to paddle boarding. The trails are easy to walk and mostly shaded, which is great in the Texas heat. We spent a lot of time just wandering, sitting by the water, and watching wildlife — we saw deer and tons of birds. The park is clean and well cared for, and the restrooms were in good shape every time we used them, which always matters when you’re spending the day or camping. The campsites are spaced out nicely and feel private, especially compared to a lot of other parks. Even when there were plenty of people around, it never felt loud or crowded. It’s a great spot whether you’re camping, kayaking, fishing, or just going for a picnic or a quiet walk. The stars are also amazing

I love stopping here to break up the drive back from Dallas to Houston. I had a lovely Lakeview picnic and an easy hike around the Prairie Branch loop trail. It was a warm day but most of the trail is shaded. I enjoyed listening to the birds, and the trails are well marked. You can see all the hard work they're putting in to maintain the trails. I thoroughly enjoyed my visit today.

Good state park, brought own kayaks and love Lake Raven! We had spot 151 which was on the water. Public path goes right behind it to the fishing dock though so fyi. Wish park store had magnets, hiking medallions for our collection but they dont. Tables and fire rings are weird too, some are behind your camper on opposite side of your door which is not convenient. Some pads also are not level so bring a lot of stabilizer pads.

Amazing Experience at Huntsville State Park, Texas We visited Huntsville State Park three times, and each visit was truly memorable. 😍The park's relaxing atmosphere and natural beauty create the perfect setting for a getaway🏞🏕. One of the highlights was enjoying paddle boat rides⛵ on the peaceful lake, which was both fun and scenic. We also loved packing our own lunch and having a picnic right there in the lovely surroundings. The variety of outdoor activities we engaged in, including playing badminton, cricket, and hiking, made each visit exciting and full of adventure. Overall, Huntsville State Park offers a wonderful blend of relaxation and outdoor fun, and we cannot wait to visit again. It’s a perfect spot for families, friends, or anyone looking to connect with nature. Highly recommended! MY PERSONAL SUGGESTION IS THAT : Go there once in life❣
