3 weeks agoThis is the best nature trail in Baldwin County. It is relaxing and scary at the same time. Look up to see trees balanced on top of other trees and beautiful birds. There are small foot trails, boardwalks, and gravel paths. One path leads to a beach on the bay and so much more. Don’t be surprised when you stumble across a graveyard from the early 1800s and take a few minutes to marvel at a 300+ year olds tree that has been a landmark for travelers from the 1700s. Watch out for alligators and snakes especially during the spring time. Note- some of these photos were taken at Bayfront which connects to Village Park.

2 months agoThis was my first visit to the park. I went to see Jackson Oak (by the way...Google will try to take you through the subdivision behind the oak instead of to this park) and the D'Olive Cemetery. Plenty of parking. Bathrooms were nice. People were friendly. Will visit again.

12 months agoNice nature preserve. You can take the boardwalk at about 2 mi each way, or the gravel service road at about 3/4 mi each way. At the end, there is a pier with views of Mobile bay, and windsurfers if you're lucky. Peaceful, relaxing, uncrowded.
