4 weeks agoThis was an incredible hike, steel, rock climbing, areas with railings. Well labeled trial the entire way. Beautiful areas the whole way up to stop and see the sights. You will be using your hands for a good portion of the way up and down. The top is so worth it. I was told parking is a little iffy but I got there around 1pm and there were a couple spots. Restrooms and water st the start. Please don’t be that person to wear unsafe shoes. People were sliding with the gravel along the way because of shoe choices. I saw two dogs and that was fun. It’s definitely labeled correctly as extremely difficult but take your time and you’ll be fine.

4 weeks agoEcho Canyon Trail at Camelback Mountain is an amazing hike if you like a challenge. The climb up the rocks is steep and intense but very rewarding. The trail is well marked, and the rock scrambling makes it fun and engaging rather than boring. The views at the top are incredible and absolutely worth the effort. A great hike for anyone who enjoys a tough workout and scenic payoff.

4 weeks agoI've done this trail twice now, once 20 years ago and once Christmas eve 2025. This is by far one of my favorite trails. It tests you the entire way but the challenge is worth it. Go early and bring lots of water. Stay away in the summer months!

1 month agoEcho Canyon trail is not for beginner hiking. This is an aggressive trail with steep rock covered valleys to navigate. Beautiful sights to see of the valley below. Absolutely worth it should you decide this is for you.

4 months agoThe Camelback Eco Canyon Trailhead is extremely challenging. It demands strong fitness, stamina, and mental preparation. The terrain is steep, rocky, and often risky, making it one of the toughest trails in the region. It 4-5 tough climbing. Need good hiking shoes. 🥵 Difficulty Level • Very Difficult • Risk Factor – narrow paths, steep ascents, and descents make it dangerous if not careful. • Technical Movement – at certain sections, you’ll feel like you’re climbing with both legs and hands; while descending, you may need to use your hands for balance and support. 💧 Essentials to Carry • Plenty of water (hydration is critical). • Proper hiking shoes with strong grip. • Gloves (optional, but helpful for hand support on rocks). • Snacks/Energy bars for stamina. ⚠️ Things to Keep in Mind • Be prepared and well-maintained before attempting. • Avoid hiking alone; a partner is highly recommended. • Start early in the day to avoid heat. • Respect your limits — it’s easy to underestimate the difficulty. After pushing through the tough climbs and crossing the challenging sections, you’re rewarded with a breathtaking scenic view of the mountains. The moment feels refreshing, peaceful, and truly worth all the effort.
