2 months agoPretty busy hike for the length (Friday @ 11am), but I can see why! 3.2 miles RT (out and back); moderate elevation changes. Several streams for the pups to cool down before reaching the main waterfall. No trash cans or water fountains. Path is clearly marked. Recommend waterproof shoes.

2 months agoYellow Branch Falls Trail is one of my favorite hikes located about an hour & 20 minutes from Greenville. When you arrive you’ll see picnic tables & pavilion with tables and a fireplace. The trail starts out along the creek & it’s wonderful to hear the water bustling & birds chirping as you walk. The path crosses the creek in several places but has nicely maintained bridges or stepping stones to cross. The path starts out easy for the first half & then as more of an incline for the second half. The falls are spectacular, well worth the hike. We went in December at 10 am and were the only ones on the trail. It’s an in and out hike. I enjoyed it so much, I did it twice. When I returned to the parking lot later in the day, there were about 6 cars in the lot, do it filled up quickly. I would imagine that parking may be a problem during peak hiking months and times. It’s a 3.1 mile trail with an elevation gain of nearly 500 ft.

2 months agoWe’ve come again and again! It’s our very favorite. Easy enough for those new to hiking and safe for kids. The trails are well worn. The waterfall is spectacular.

3 months ago3 miles total out and back, plenty of free parking, accross the road from Stumphouse, large road sign pointing to Yellow Falls Branch. Parking is at the bottom of the hill, stinky outhouse available. Typical single trek forest trail, 4 tiny creek crossings, squirrels everywhere! The falls are high and wide, more of a gentle falls than say, a rough plunge. This area is free but I seen Stumphouse and Issaqueena area does have a $5? Parking fee. Pay your fee, please! Lol js.
