We attempted to complete the Green Mountain Trail. There were no lime green blazes on trees where there were three different trails that divergeed. We apparently picked the wrong one. We never made it to our destination. Disappointed to say the least.

These are biking and hiking trails. They are excellent for hiking or MTB. There is a lot that holds about 10 cars plus some road parking. You cannot bring a trailer or box truck here. Flat Creek is a climb up, a crazy fast down to the creek, then a limb back up. Stanley Gap is more challenging as the climbs are short steep and rutty/rocky. Also a very fast trail on the downhills. Across the road is Green Mountain trail, which is up and down to the lake, and a solid climb back to the parking lot. That trail also connects to Long Branch Loop. You can ride them all from the Deep Gap lot. These are great fast and fun trails but not much is for beginners as the downhills have lots of rocks roots and there is some moderate climbing involved that beginners may not like. Not matter how experienced you are you will have a blast here. All trails are out and back, unless you park a car at the other end of Green Mountain or Stanley Gap which are on different sides of the mountains. I highly recommend these trails if you are in Blue Ridge. There is at least 18 miles of great riding here just a few minutes from town.

Deep Gap to Stanley Gap with a bypass to Fall Branch Falls. Some good climbing and beautiful trails. The signs say this trail is strenuous but I really enjoyed the out and back. About 12 miles and 3000 ft of elevation gain. Take plenty of water or a filter to get water at the falls.
