3 months agoLovely trails through some Alabama countryside. The initial walk in is pretty heavy with road noise and basically being in people's backyards. However about a mile in several trails split off and you have a nice quiet forest dominated by loblolly pines and some local Harwood. I particularly liked the broad leaf magnolias you can find scattered about. The Creek itself is not really accessible though there are a few nice overlook. Some rough paths down to the canyon the creek runs in do exist but we didn't stray from any designated trails. Those trails are pretty well kept lots of gravel on the main paths well packed earth on the side trails. The undergrowth is certainly open so if busy you will be seeing and hearing fellow hikers. Paths are dog friendly but bring them water it gets hot.

3 months agoHurricane Creek is one of those natural spots that still retains its magic. The sound of water, the rocks, and the tall trees create a perfect environment to unwind and breathe fresh air. Ideal for hiking, exploring the riverbanks, or simply relaxing for a while watching the sunset. The trail has quiet and wilder areas, making it perfect for families as well as those who enjoy adventure and pure nature. Bring comfortable shoes, water, and get ready to enjoy one of the most beautiful natural gems near Tuscaloosa.
