Modern Dental

I had my visit here to get and extraction. This was my second extraction in my lifetime. The first extraction at another dentist I had the worst pain ever. HOWEVER after getting my extraction at MODERN DENTAL I think it was removed by an angel. I had some pain the first day as the numbness wore off but I woke up completely painless the second day. As well as my surgical area looks good. Not to mention I loved they were black owned. CHEFS KISS

Let me start by saying that I have had very bad experiences with dentists in the past, so I was reluctant to make an appointment. To my surprise, I went in—and that is where the experience started to get better. Angela and Skye — Front Desk Angela and Skye made me feel welcome and at ease right away. They made registration and sign-in enjoyable, noticed that I was nervous, and helped me relax with their kindness and sense of humor. Tasha — Hygienist Tasha noticed that I was nervous and took the time to explain everything clearly. During both visits, she made sure I was comfortable, stopped whenever I felt anything, added more medicine when needed, and made the experience much easier than I expected. Dr. Kelley Dr. Kelley came in, introduced herself, asked how I was doing, and acknowledged that she had been told I was nervous. I explained that a previous dentist had caused me pain, and she reassured me by saying, “We don’t do that here. If you feel anything, let me know.” She also had a gentle technique that helped me not feel the needle. By the time she pulled the tooth, I honestly did not feel anything. I was so surprised that I asked her to show me the tooth. She did a great job and completed a lot of work. I also paid less than I originally expected because, after working in my mouth, she determined that something was not needed—which is something you do not hear often. I spent nearly four hours there, and it was the best dental experience I have had. Kim and Mina — Assistants Kim and Mina were awesome. They made sure I was comfortable throughout the visit and worked extremely well with Dr. Kelley; they often had what she needed ready before she even had to ask. All of this was happening while I was watching TV, and the music was excellent. I love old-school music, and the atmosphere was very relaxing. The office is very clean, comfortable, and relaxing. P.S. It was a little cool for me, so I recommend bringing a light jacket. I had one in the car, so it was not a big deal.

Excellent work and a friendly staff

As a newer transplant to Atlanta I took a chance on Modern Dental based mostly on reviews and proximity, and I'm very glad I did! Dr. Kelley was wonderful, and all of the front desk workers, assistants, hygienists, and dentists were very friendly and communicative. I was a little nervous about going since it had been a few years since I'd been able to visit a dentist and I knew I had some cavities and gum disease to address, but I was never once made to feel judged or chastised for it. During procedures they made sure I was comfortable and had something engaging to watch on the overhead TVs, and the moment I expressed any discomfort they paused to ensure that I was okay before continuing. After my first visit I was given an easily understandable care plan so I knew what to expect for future visits, and billing was clearly communicated with no unpleasant surprises or upselling. I now have a clean bill of dental health until my next routine cleaning, I've never been more confident of my smile, and I'll be recommending Modern Dental to anyone who will listen!
