a week agoEdit: In the past several days, I have experienced multiple incidents that have caused me to reconsider continuing my lease. First, due to ground-floor patios being directly accessible from public walkways, I have observed individuals (not the tenants) sleeping or sitting on patio furniture belonging to nearby units. Because the property is not gated, public access to the community is unrestricted, which appears to contribute to this issue. Second, people are generally great here but I have encountered one too many hostile residents that made me feel uncomfortable walking outside alone. Recently, I was harassed by another resident and his companion after walking my dog. They approached me aggressively with threats and phone to record because I had let me dog run on the field. I attempted to disengage and walk away, but the situation escalated when he followed me home. He continued to yell, make threats, and record me on his phone while closely following me toward my apartment. When I reached my building, he positioned himself in a way that prevented me from moving and continued to shout at me while holding his phone close to my face. Although my dog remained calm and under control throughout the encounter, I felt unsafe due to his aggressive behavior, close physical proximity, and continued presence outside my residence. Third, people drive recklessly around the property, despite the narrow streets and the presence of children/pets. I've seen and ducked away from fancy cars revving through our parking structure as well. Based on these experiences, I recommend contacting local law enforcement directly if disturbances occur. The security hotline recommended by management appears to involve off-site personnel with delayed response times and limited access, which has not been effective in my experience. Original Review (Rephrased): If you’re considering living here, I strongly recommend reading all the reviews first. For the rent being charged, the living conditions do not meet expectations. Pros: Whole Foods is next door. Maintenance is quick for basic repairs. Cons: Severe noise problems. The walls and floors are paper-thin—you hear everything. Renovated units lack proper sound insulation, so noise transfers directly between apartments. If you live on ground floor with outdoor access, you may have strangers sleeping on your porch. Apartments are poorly insulated so winters are cold no matter how much you turn up the heater. Renovated units appear cheaply finished: blinds crack easily, flooring is already lifting, many malfunctioning appliances, etc. Dead animals (rats, squirrels, etc.) are frequently found on the property. Disorganized mailroom system: they use Luxer without lockers, resulting in lost or misplaced packages. Trash is regularly left around the property. Garbage trails and fast-food bags are often scattered near the bins. Significant bug issue inside units. Reliant parking fees don't do anything- you really don't need it. Don't pay it. Main issue: This is an old building with thin walls and floors, allowing noise to travel easily between units. Sounds from the apartment above—especially since upper floors use laminate flooring with no insulation—are loud enough to shake the walls. Our upstairs neighbors frequently stomp, drag furniture, bang, and run at all hours, including 3–4 a.m. They also host late-night parties and play loud music. Despite speaking with them and contacting management, nothing has improved. Management conducted one visit to suggest noise reduction, but there was no follow-up. The noise has not only continued—it has worsened to the point where it feels intentional. We were told to call a security hotline, but security is off-site, limited in hours, and rarely responds. I strongly recommend skipping the hotline and calling the local police instead—they typically respond within 15 minutes. Management offered a unit transfer, but it requires an additional month’s rent of over $5,000, which is unreasonable given the already high costs here.

a month agoThe elevators are always broken, which isn’t acceptable for the cost of rent and the amount of money being put into renovations. New elevators need to be installed rather than them being down regularly and having to get repairs done on what seems like a monthly occurrence at this point.
